Oliver Luck on Big East expansion

West Virginia athletic director may profess obedience to Big East commissioner John Marinatto's standing gag order on expansion, but if you read in between the lines on his latest comments about the new Pac-10 television deal it's pretty easy to see where Luck stands. 1. Luck wants to add new television markets like Houston and Orlando. 2. Luck thinks Marinatto and the basketball schools are being too timid and need to show more willingness to test the market instead of jumping at ESPN's first offer. That's the charitable reading. More likely is that Luck and Rutgers athletic director Tim Pernetti are itching to take charge of negotiations and sideline Marinatto, if not remove him entirely from the commissioner job.
