Rutgers football recruiting update for the week of 5/17

Committed Players

Miles Shuler won the 100-m title in last week's Monmouth County track championships.

Uncommitted Players

NJ TE Mike Giacone isn't saying much of anything.

'13 PA TE Adam Breneman already has a few offers. PA TE J.P. Holtz has a fair bit of regional offers. PA RB Greg Garmon is looking elsewhere.

RU was one of many teams to offer a Virginia high school freshman LB at De'Antwan Williams's old HS. MD RB Ken Goins probably isn't going to RU.

Another '13 offer is out to DE DE Ken Bigelow.

ND offered FL RB Dami Ayoola. RU supposedly offered FL DE Dwayne Hoilett.

Georgia coach Mark Richt has pointed comments for other SEC programs when it comes to oversigning. Georgia, Florida, and Vanderbilt are the three SEC programs that don't oversign.

Villanova hired former Maryland DL Coach/recruiting coordinator Dave Sollazzo. He had some success early on, but had trouble pulling NJ players as Rutgers improved and the Terps regressed. At the minimum he won't be recruiting against RU for another FBS program this year.

Michigan State DC Pat Narduzzi is trying to recruit NJ.

Watchlist: This is a section of this site's weekly recruiting posts featuring links to players that Rutgers may or may not be showing interest in, but has not yet offered.

Eli Ankou, Vin Ascolese, Tre Bell, Anthony Brown, Jalen Gee, Zayd Issah, Nigel Jones, Abner LoganBrendan Nosovitch, Jahmahl Pardner, Brandon Peoples, and Malik Simmons.
