Rutgers football recruiting update for the week of 4/5

Committed Players

Miles Shuler is kind of fast.

Myles Jackson is still growing into his frame.

Uncommitted Players

247 Sports has an update on NJ OT Ryan Brodie, NY DB Wayne Morgan, and several 2013 targets.

NJ CB Yuri Wright is looking at USC, Bama, ND, and Rutgers.

So NJ ATH Delon Stephenson, about that timeline...

"I’ll probably make my decision on my birthday, June 27," Stephenson said.

Still kind of surprised to see an out of state player in MD LB Sam Lebbie saying this, especially with no one really knowing at this point due to the new restrictions on sending out written offers.

"Hands down Rutgers is showing me the most early interest right now," Lebbie said. "They are making a good impression on me with the way they are recruiting me and they are my top school right now. I don't have any timeline for committing. I'll know it when it feels right."

When will PA QB Blake Renkin get more offers?

Multiple recruits made it to last Saturday's practice.

Star-divide

NJ DL/LB Kaiwan Lewis visited UVA over the weekend.

PA DE Noah Spence claims no favorites. PA OL Chris Muller will visit BC, UVA, and ND. PA OL Frank Taylor remains open.

It'll be strange (for a QB at least) if NY QB Chad Kelly sticks to his relaxed timeline.

Dunno what's up with D.C. DE De’Jon Wilson.

Rutgers is in the top five for FL QB Gunnar Holcombe? FL DE Tyriq McCord will tour campuses over the summer. FL QB Bilal Marshall claims an offer. FL ATH Trey Dudley-Giles plans to visit RU over the summer. MacGarrett Kings Jr. sure is a peculiar name.

Much change is afoot in the recruiting world, with another high profile round of defections to 247 Sports. Doesn't appear to be any movement with the Rutgers sites though.

Watchlist: This is a section of this site's weekly recruiting posts featuring links to players that Rutgers may or may not be showing interest in, but has not yet offered.

Eli Ankou, Jim CashmanCasey CochranMichael Giacone, and Ray Korang/Dom Twitty (2).
