Rutgers football recruiting update for the week of 4/26

Committed Players

Gary Nova, Savon Huggins, and other signees made it to practice last week.

Uncommitted Players

This weekend is the spring game, which is usually good for a verbal commit or two.

This story on NY DB Wayne Morgan is kind of odd; not in that it lists Rutgers and Michigan as his leaders, but the author tries to shoehorn Syracuse based on a silly in-state angle.

NJ ATH Brandon Napoleon is going to RU's Spring Game this weekend. VT is starting to get into the picture for him. Napoleon's teammate S D.J. Singleton visited Wisconsin over the weekend.

NJ CB Yuri Wright visited Colorado. Wright's teammate DL/LB Mike Strizak has been spending a lot of time at Rutgers.

Rutgers is the favorite for NJ ATH Delon Stephenson, younger brother of '11 signee Daryl. Rutgers wants Stephenson as a CB. He wants to play WR, although that will be a challenge with in-state prospects like Peele and Carroo. Agudosi has a good chance to blow up at some point too. NJ has been loaded at WR for the past few years, and the riches seemingly continue without end.

Rutgers was the first to offer '13 ATH Charles Callinan out of St. Peter's Prep.

Star-divide

NJ DL/LB Kaiwan Lewis will name a top ten in June.

So does PA OL J.J. Denman still have a top five?

No mention of RU from MD WR Stafon Diggs. MD WR Ian Thomas isn't saying much yet, although RU and MD are showing the most interest.

MA LB Canaan Severin is collecting more verbal offers.

FL RB Roshard Burney holds two verbal offers. FL TE Kent Taylor is thinking factory.

While NY DT Jarron Jones is a soft verbal to PSU, he's still checking out other programs.

Watchlist: This is a section of this site's weekly recruiting posts featuring links to players that Rutgers may or may not be showing interest in, but has not yet offered.

Dalton Crossan, Nico D'Angelo, Abner Logan, Brendan Nosovitch, Nate Smith, and Dominic Twitty (is this article wrong?)
