Rutgers football recruiting update for the week of 4/19

Committed Players

Linden receiver Ruhann Peele is the first football commitment for 2012.

Uncommitted Players

The lede of this story is about the '12 Don Bosco players all choosing the same football program, but it's mostly about NJ DT Darius Hamilton.

Is NY DB Wayne Morgan interested in Michigan?

NJ ATH Brandon Napoleon on his top five:

In order, he listed North Carolina, Rutgers, Virginia Tech, Maryland and Michigan as his favorites.

PA QB Blake Rankin visited MSU last week. It's a little weird to see that a QB listed at 6'4, 195 ran for 977 yards and 16 TDs last year. Rankin also visited PSU's spring game.

Who's Charlie Callinan?

Not really sure what's up with NJ ATH Nigel Jones.

Hooray, RU moved up into the top five for legacy PA OL J.J. Denman. PA OL Adam DePietro is taking visits. PA LB T.J. Neal is from the same school as Delvon Simmons and Branden Jackson.

MD ATH Deontay McManus likes WVU.

NY QB Chad Kelly visited FSU last week.

Fans probably should lay off stalking recruits on Facebook, contact being a rules violation and such.

NY DT Jarron Jones is a soft verbal to PSU. MD ATH Ron Darby committed to ND. Erstwhile UNC commit Delvon Simmons committed to Texas Tech.

Watchlist: This is a section of this site's weekly recruiting posts featuring links to players that Rutgers may or may not be showing interest in, but has not yet offered.

Mike Burke, Ryan Burns, Brock Dean, Michael GiaconeBrendan Nosovitch, and Greg Webb.
