Committed Players
The Long Branch athletic director didn't think Miles Shuler-Foster would go to Rutgers. Really?
Uncommitted Players
Rivals.com is holding a camp in NJ this weekend.
Wooo, NJ LB Jazzmar Clax rules.
"Rutgers is number one," Clax said over the weekend. "I’ve been keeping in touch with them some and my coach talks to coach (Greg) Schiano."
Who stands out early for NY DB Wayne Morgan?
"There’s not really a leader, but I like Rutgers," Morgan said. "I like Rutgers a lot. I feel like I am at home when I am here. I get along with all of the coaches real well. It’s takes about an hour and a half when traffic is bad, when there’s no traffic, it’s probably going to take an hour."
NJ WR Leonte Carroo is claiming a top five. He just went to MD's Junior Day.
"My current top five is Rutgers, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Georgia and UCF," he said.
NJ LB Quanzell Lambert actually does seem open early.
"It’s probably going to be three weeks before signing day," he said. "I want to make sure that the coaching situations are stable and all, so I have to wait and see what happens during the season."
NJ ATH Devon Fuller picked up offers from TCU and Iowa.
Cincy is thinking about offering NJ RB Nigel Jones. RU is also involved with his teammate, LB Dan Mastromatteo.
RU is in NJ ATH Brandon Napoleon's top five. He just visited RU and MD.
mgoblog talked to NJ DL/LB Kaiwan Lewis. BTW, Brian Cook makes a good point about the flood of verbal offers stemming from new NCAA rules.
ND and Michigan offered NY DT Jarron Jones. RU offered NY QB Chad Kelly, who's Jim Kelly's nephew and a pretty big recruit. Don't get too excited yet though.
PA OL J.J. Denman doesn't seem interested.
He says his top five are South Carolina, Notre Dame, Michigan, Penn State, and BC.
PA TE Colin Thompson is waiting for a ND offer, as is teammate OL Frank Taylor. PA OL Ian Park is claiming an offer.
RU offered MD TE/DE Charles Tapper. MD RB Ken Goins is talking up PSU.
RU offered FL OG Duaron Williams. FL WR Fred McRae has had an offer for a while. FL CB Sam Green picked up offers from USF and Cincy.
It's verbal offers all around this week, with another one going to MA ATH Armani Reeves.
There's an interesting situation worth watching at UNC, where PA OL/DT Delvon Simmons wants out of his LOI. He feels mislead after their DL coach left the program right after Signing Day. Simmons had a weird recruitment where RU was out of it for a while, suddenly got back involved with a week left to go, before falling out again. His other finalists were USC and Oregon, but it might not be that simple. There was talk that his family wanted him on the East Coast and that's where RU was involved, before UNC came in as a compromise choice. Early speculation is with Oregon and Alabama (wheeee, oversigning). Too early to gamble on this one though. By the way, in a somewhat related note, DT Brandon Willis is actually transferring back to UNC after previously leaving for UCLA. You don't see that every day.
Watchlist: This is a section of this site's weekly recruiting posts featuring links to players that Rutgers may or may not be showing interest in, but has not yet offered.
Casey Cochran, Nico D'Angelo, Ethan Gambale, Devante McFarlane, and Camren Williams (2).
