Greg Schiano moves up coaching tenure rankings

Now that Fresno State has fired Pat Hill, Greg Schiano of Rutgers is tied for the seventh-longest tenured head coach in all of college football. The current dean is Frank Beamer, with Schiano a solid fourteen years behind. Beamer and Mack Brown are in their 60s, and Schiano is the only top ten coach still in his forties. That means...(gasp)...it's not completely outlandish that Schiano could one day emulate his idol, Joe Paterno, as the longest-tenured head coach in college football. Speaking of Hill, don't you wish someone (ESPN looking to pair together a game for television?) would step up and buy that game out now that Hill is gone? His teams were solid, even if they fell off at the end. He was really done in by off-the-field issues though.
