- Coach Schiano laments missing ten to fifteen practices that normally come with playing in a bowl game. Does it matter that RU didn't get the full allotment of practices last year?
- Rutgers is up to #9 in the new Open Mat wrestling rankings (#14 in Intermat). If only women's basketball was doing as well this year...
- UMass plans to join the MAC in 2013.
- Kent State hired former Rutgers assistant Darrell Hazell as their new head coach. That's led to a flurry of Ohio State speculation about bringing in P.J. Fleck (he was a graduate assistant there a few years ago), but I...cannot find any source for the rumor whatsoever. Couldn't they just take Ciarrocca? One thing's for sure: stay the hell off FlightAware or you'll just start chasing ghosts (yes, I looked). Nor is there anything solid at all out there about former RU OC John McNulty actually being a real candidate at Temple.
- Florida line coach Steve Addazio is interviewing for the Temple job. Former Pitt OC Frank Cignetti keeps getting named as a candidate, but as of now he hasn't interviewed (fingers crossed!) Interestingly enough, Penn State DC Tom Bradley and LBs coach Ron Vanderlinden have, which only fuel speculation about Joe Paterno's future. Oh wow. If that were to somehow happen this year would turn into the best Rutgers football offseason ever.
