Previewing Monmouth: Rutgers Basketball Game 10

Stay connected for news and updates

Rutgers goes on the road today, a short trip down the Parkway to the Jersey Shore.

But since it's the beginning of winter, there won't be much fun on this trip, as they take on Monmouth University.  Instead, they'll be looking to get their 8th win of the season.

More after the jump...

Dane Miller is bringing in three straight double digit games, and it'll be interesting to see if he can keep that up tonight.  James Beatty, who's been in a bit of a shooting slump, needs to get going.

Monmouth seems to want to muck it up and play a slow down, dirty game.  They average 60.1 points a game.  They're leading scorer is a F, Ed Waithe, who averages only 9.6 points per game.  Offense is going to be hard to come by for the Hawks.

They've been in nearly every game, only losing by 20 to Davidson and getting blown out by Rider.  They've hung in there with every team, the games come down to almost the last few possession.  They're 2-2 at home, losing to Princeton and Stoneybrook.  The team is 4-6 overall.

For more, here's Brendan Prunty's preview and a nice feature on Dane Miller.
